Why is the picture in the guide on DirectTV more clear than the actual picture on the TV?

I have DirecTV service with an HD DirecTV reciever box. When you click guide on the remote, the channel guide appears and the channel you are viewing goes into a small box on the top right corner of the guide. The picture looks so clear and vivid in that small box, but when I exit the channel guide back to the TV, the picture looks very blurry and dull compared to the smaller guide picture. Any help?

1. Maybe you need a new TV.
2. you take a picture and blow it up on a copy machine and the same thing happens. a 20" will always look clearer than a 60"
